For the last ten years I have been in a pair of Oakley Whiskers which have been fantastic but the polarisation has just started to lift of the lenses. So I wanted another pair that was very simular to the Whiskers (as they have been discontinued)and even tho the glass size is slightly larger the Taper tick all of the boxes
The lenses are fantastic with a crystal clear view, they fit the face very well as well as sitting perfectly on top of the head for safe keeping when needed (perfect for when putting!!) The build quality is excellent and just as good at the Whiskers that are replacing, which hasn't always been the case. I had ordered another couple of Oakleys which were apparently the replacements for the Whisker but they felt very cheap and were very quickly returned. The Taper however have become my new favourite sun glasses, and hope to have another 10 year worth of use.

Ive only just recieved these but first impressions are they are an Excellent balance between functionality and style. I have quite a small head (52cm circumfrence) and these fit well and they feel secure on my face ie the arms grip well. So far this has not been uncomfortable. Because they wrap around they block out the sun more effectively andyou dont get wind turbulence around your eyes eg when cycling or on the beach. They sit wellon the topof your head when temporararily removing them eg walking into a shop.Build quality is exceptional. They feel robust. Although I was advised they were made from carbon I'm quite sure they are not. Rather they are metal. The arms are not sprung which expected on a pair of sunglasses of this calibre. But there is plenty of natural flex without been flimsy. As for the lenses they were described in the accompanying info sheet as grade 3 which is for strong sunlight and suitable for driving (grade 4 is not). However they are fine when wearing indoors too. Highly recommend.
